Tipton Cemetery

This cemetery is the site of the graves of John Butler Tipton (1797-1873), first Monroe

County Court Clerk, and his wife Louisiana Wear Tipton (1803-1890).  Their grandfathers,

Colonel John Tipton and Colonel Samuel Wear, signed the original Tennessee Constitution in

1796.  Other family members and friends are also buried here.
